THE SACRED HEART OF JESUS The Church dedicates the entire month of June to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, so that Catholics may venerate and imitate Him during these 30 days. This means we must live out this month by showing Jesus through our actions that we love Him—considering all that we owe Him. Jesus possesses a heart that loves without measure. This devotion to the Sacred Heart originated from the apparitions of Jesus experienced by a nun, Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque. During these apparitions, Jesus asked her to teach us to love Him more, to pray to Him, and to cultivate devotion to Him.
