With the celebrations of Christmas, Epiphany, and the Baptism of the Lord, the Christmas season ends, and the liturgical season known as Ordinary Time begins, since there are no solemnities or feasts of particular importance to our faith during this period. Ordinary Time extends until the beginning of Lent, which this year begins on Wednesday, February 18th; Ash Wednesday.
This is a brief overview to help you follow the order of the liturgical calendar as indicated and taught by the Church. This calendar differs from the chronological calendar, that is, the days and months of the year, which we normally experience in our secular lives. Happy Sunday to all.
