LIFE.
As you well realize, August is over, September is beginning, and with it, the season of autumn. The years go by so quickly, and today we all live in a hurry, we want everything quickly. This is easy to corroborate: fast food; email; social media. Everything at an incredible speed. That doesn’t mean this is bad, no; but it does prevent us from taking time to think about life, about the small details, about enjoying our family more, about talking to them more. We forget about those most in need. The speed at which we live makes us think more about ourselves, about how to have a good time.
Before we know it, we’ll be taken to the cemetery in a coffin. Many of you have already lost your parents, your grandparents, an uncle or aunt; soon it will be us.
The Gospel readings for the Sundays of August referred to death, to God’s judgment! This scares us a little, and we prefer not to pay attention to it; we turn our heads, as if that would change reality.
Let’s take the time to spend more time with God, that is, to pray more. And let that prayer not be a quick one.
