ADVENT
Throughout the year, the Church commemorates the entire mystery of Christ, from the Incarnation to Pentecost and the Parousia.
After the annual celebration of the Paschal Mystery, the Church holds nothing in higher esteem than the celebration of the Lord’s birth and his first manifestations: this takes place during the Christmas season.
This celebration is prepared for by the Advent season, which has a twofold nature: it is the time of preparation for the solemnity of Christmas, in which the first coming of the Son of God to humanity is celebrated, and at the same time, through this remembrance, the spirit is directed toward the expectation of Christ’s second coming at the end of time. For these two reasons, the Advent season is presented as a time of devout and joyful expectation.
A happy start to your preparation for Christmas, and a happy Sunday.
