Words of the Priest 05/11/25

All Catholics, who belong to the Church founded by Christ, want to have good relations with other churches or Christian groups—with people who have other faiths. That’s good because we should seek peace and find common ground for a harmonious and friendly journey in this world. But it’s another thing to equate all creeds and different beliefs and place them on par with the one Church that leads us to the One God, our Triune God (three distinct persons and one true God).
There are two concepts that need to be clarified: one thing is to respect all religions, and another is to tolerate them. Tolerating them implies accepting them for social harmony, but we know they are not the true religion. Respect means placing them on an equal footing with the Christian faith. Today, even Catholics think that Christianity is just one religion among others. And no, that’s not the case. The Catholic Church is the human and divine institution founded by Christ so that, through His message and following Him, we may reach the Father. Which Father? GOD. Jesus is the only way to God; there is no other. Jesus himself said this.
Happy Sunday!
